Large Scale WiFI in a Target Range

FreeETarget has evolved from a simple target that was used by individuals to a sophisticated training device used in large target range. This document describes the setting to simply access multiple devices in a shooting range.

Training With FreeETarget

Using Witness Paper

While FreeETarget was originally designed to use conventional ISSF paper targets, advanced users may need to use witness paper to ensure that all shots are correctly identified and logged. The Using Witness Paper document provides instructions for making your own witness paper drive and how to install it in a target.

Using the Accessory Connector

In addition to the usual USB and WiFI connections supported by the target, there is an Accessory Connector that lets you plug in different interfaces such as a Token Ring or RS-422 interface. See Using the Accessory Connector

Optional Serial Interfaces

FreeETarget supports a number of serial interfaces between the target and the PC Client. This document Optional Serial Interfaces give summary to the interfaces and how they can be used.

Installing Illumination (LED Lighting)

The target has provision for installing LED strip lighting in the target and controlling its brightness in software. Since each country has its own electrical rules and regulations that make it impossible to include LED lights with every international order. To get around this problem you can purchase the hardware locally and install it yourself. Installing Illumination gives you instructions and suggestions for obtaining the hardware.

Building a Five Bay Rapid Fire Target. Five targets can be connected in a network to aggregate the shots. When combined with the rapid fire settings in the PC Client, the target can be timed in a number of rapid fire events.
